Oshkosh, Wis.(WFRV)- U.S. Congressman Tom Petri is defending his actions after a watchdog group questioned his ethics regarding his investments with Oshkosh Corp.
Petri was accused of having a conflict of interest after pushing congress to award multi-million dollar defense contracts to Oshkosh Corp. over the past few years.
According to Gannett Newspapers, Petri bought hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock in the company around the time the contracts were awarded. That proved to be a red flag for several watch dog groups.
Petri told Local 5, the Ethics Committee has looked into the situation and sees no cause for investigation and says he personally isn't worried about a probe.
