Waiting on the Corn

The latest USDA crop update rates the nations corn crop as the best its been for this time of year since 1999. Even here in Wisconsin 77% of the crop is rated good to excellent. However that is not the case here in Northeastern Wisconsin.
There's a lot of good looking corn throughout the corn and soybean belt. The most recent USDA crop progress report shows that 76% of the crop is rated good to excellent...the best rating for the crop in mid-July in 15 years. Here in Wisconsin the majority of the crop is also progressing well with 77% of the corn rated good to excellent. But unfortunately because of wet and cool conditions the corn crop in Northeastern Wisconsin is just not measuring up.
