DNR proposes registering deer online

Moving to a digitized system could save the state money
GREEN Bay, Wis. (WFRV)--During deer hunting season, hauling your bagged bucks to a DNR registration booth is a tradition, but that could soon change.

The DNR is proposing to switch to a digital system.

Currently, there are more than 600 locations to register your bucks statewide including DNR stations, taverns, and gas stations.

Switching to a computerized system would mean quicker  and more convenient tallies as well as saving money.

The changes call for eliminating in-person registration across all deer stations.

And instead going online or phoning them in.

The DNR is set to vote on the proposal wednesday.
