McCarthy names Scott Tolzien starter vs. Giants next week

Former Badger will make his first NFL start
Mike McCarthy has named Scott Tolzien the Packers starting quarterback for next Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Tolzien, signed off the practice squad on Wednesday, was forced into action on Sunday against the Eagles when Seneca Wallace suffered a groin injury after the first drive of the game.

In his first significant NFL action, Tolzien completed 24 of 39 passes for 280 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

The Packers will enter next Sunday's contest at 5-4.
