Milwaukee Takes the Series Over New York

Brewers continue stellar play.

The Brewers shut-out the Mets, 3-0 Sunday afternoon to win the series and win their 20th game in their last 26 contests.

 

Ryan Braun hit two home runs, the reigning NL MVP now has 201 bombs in his career. He becomes the sixth Brewers player to reach 200 homers and seventh to reach 40 in a season.

 

Rookie pitcher Wily Peralta had a stellar outing on the mound, giving up just two singles in eight innings, striking out five and walking one. He also got his first major league hit when he doubled in the seventh.  John Axford pitched in the ninth to record his 29th save.

 

Milwaukee has Monday off before heading to Pittsburgh for a three game series.
