With a win over Murray State in the 3rd round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, the Marquette Golden Eagles will make another appearence in the Sweet 16.It wasn't easy on Saturday in Louisville, however, as #6 seed Murray State, who entered with a 31-1 record and was playing in its home state of Kentucky, held a 5 point lead with under 8 minutes to play.
The #3 seed Golden Eagles used a late 14-2 run to take command of the game for good, however. Big East Player of the Year Jae Crowder scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Marquette. Guard Darius Johnson-Odom also had 17 points for the Golden Eagles (27-7)
Marquette advances to the West Regional Semifinals in Phoenix this Thursday. They will play either #7 seed Florida or #15 seed Norfolk State, who shocked the basketball world on Friday afternoon by upsetting #2 seed Missouri. Florida meets Norfolk State Sunday at 5:10 P.M.
