Oshkosh police officer injured in dispute

A 19-year-old man could be facing a number of charges for allegedly hitting an Oshkosh police officer in the face with a drinking glass.
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - A 19-year-old man could be facing a number of charges for allegedly hitting an Oshkosh police officer in the face with a drinking glass.

The incident happened yesterday, when two officers were called to a residence on West 15th Avenue to talk about an incident from October 5th.

The officers were questioning the 19-year-old inside the home, when police say he tried to run out the door.

Then, a struggle took place and that's when the teen allegedy struck the officer, a five year veteran with the force, in the face with the drinking glass.

Police, also say that the suspect tried to reach for the injured officer's weapon, but was tased and arrested.

The injuries to the officer required stitches.

The 19-year-old was taken to Winnebago County Jail on substantial battery, battery to a police officer, felony reckless endangering safety and attempting to disarm a police officer.
