OWI Task Force Crackdown

The task force tests a new process for catching violations.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Brown County OWI Task Force has tested a new process by which they to catch OWI offenses.

They put a uniformed officer out on the street on the corner of Broadway and Walnut in downtown Green Bay, to act as a spotter.

That officer then called in any violation he spotted, while cars paused at the light.

Those violations then allowed task force officers to check those cars, based on probable cause.

As a result, a total of 60 citations, and 32 warnings were handed out during Friday's deployment.
