Petitions Circulate to Stop Walmart Development

A group of citizens will start gathering signatures at 9am today, all in an effort to stop a Walmart Supercenter from being developed in downtown Green Bay.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Petitions are now circulating in the area in an effort to prevent Walmart,  from building a store in downtown Green Bay.

A group of citizens started the petition drive Tuesday morning.

They're fighting plans to potentially build a Walmart at the old Larsen cannery site on North Broadway.

The group says anyone in Green Bay and the surrounding area opposing the idea can sign the petitions or take copies and collect more signatures on their own.

Right now petitions are available to sign at Kavarna coffeehouse and on their Facebook page.
