Police tighten their hold on counterfeit ring

Police have made several arrests in connection to a counterfeit money ring in Green Bay
 Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)- Green Bay Police have caught up with who they believe has been printing and distributing 10s of thousands of counterfeit bills.

Renard Butler and Damien Johnson were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit forgery. Police have also been able to recover the items used in the manufacturing of the bills. Police believe the suspects stand as the ring leaders of the operation.

Since February, Police have received over 90 reports of counterfeit bills being used in the Green Bay area. The money was laundered through local gas stations, bars and other local businesses and even used to buy drugs.

Police say the investigation is far from over, and more arrests are expected to be made in the future.
