Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)-- Sick of those political robocalls? So is Green Bay Senator Dave Hansen - and he wants to ban them from the next election.
The Democratic state senator says both federal and state law limits the types of robocalls a consumer or business may receive, and this would also ban their use in political campaigns.
Hansen says he heard from people who received five to ten or more calls a day during the run-up to November 6th general election.
Hansen hopes to introduce legislation during the upcoming session.
If it becomes law, Senator Hansen says it would make Wisconsin the third state to ban robocalls for political purposes.
He talked with our own Local Five Anchor Kris Schuller today at 4pm about the effort.
