"My can opener is going, so i came in for a can opener and left with everything else" says shopper Bob VinGrinsven whose cart is filling fast.
With signs boasting 70 percent off, it is hard not to take a second look.
"People are looking for great deals everything from trees, to light sets, gift wrap, bows, gift bags, boxes for next year" explains Shopko store manager Dale Adams.
Retailers like Shopko are counting on shoppers to help clear the shelves and make way for valentines and spring merchandise.
"We have a lot of product left but we sold three complete aisles already this morning" Adams says.
For bargain hunters like Brenda Lambert, the entire month of December becomes a shop-a-thon.
"I'm always seeing the new coupons and getting good deals every day" she says.
Retailers say December 26th is the post popular day to redeem gift cards, but it is also a big day for returns.
"For the most part people are pretty understanding and with the organization that we have the lines and extra staff returns aren't that dreaded thing that they were in the past" says Adams.
The prices will continue to be reduced every day, but it is a gamble if your favorite item will still be on the shelf.
Shopko expects the bulk of their holiday items will be gone by January 4th.
