KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) - Many local school districts offer fun summer classes for kids.

It can be the spark that gets a child hooked on a hobby for a lifetime.

Our Terrific Teacher for the month of June can be found in Kaukauna.

Kristin Underwood is a full time youth minister who wakes up early in the summer to share her passion for theater with kids in kindergarten through second grade.

"They have tons of energy but I think that's what keeps me young. I love spending time with them and it helps me get ready for the rest of my day as well" explains Underwood.

The summer class keeps kids in the routine of learning.

"Waking up at school time and coming to some structure that is similar to school but not as rigorous or demanding as school" she says.

Students are helping with a community production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.

"[They learn everything from] costuming, to make up to creative imaginations to using your voice properly, singing we do some dancing. says Underwood.

Though the class is just three weeks long the teacher hopes this will be the introduction to get kids hooked on theater for a lifetime.

According to Underwood "They absolutely love to be on stage, to eat up that spotlight, you can see it on their  faces, and they're always excited to come to class which is very rewarding for the teacher."
