‘Carmina Burana’ among featured works.

GREEN BAY, WISC., (WFRV) – Broadway actress Patti LuPone is among guest artists who will perform on the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra’s 2013-2014 season.

Five concerts are set at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton for the orchestra’s 46th season. Info: www.foxvalleysymphony.com.

Music director and conductor Brian Groner returns for his 14th season.

- “Festa Italiana,” Jodie DeSalvo, piano, Oct. 12. Program: Hector Berlioz, “Roman Carnival Overture;” Samuel Barber, “Concerto for Piano and Orchestra” with De Salvo; Felix Mendelssohn, “Symphony No. 4 in A Major, (‘Italian’)”

- “Far Away Places with Patti LuPone,” Nov. 1, 2013.  Program: The two-time Tony winner features songs from her CD, “Far Away Places.”

- “Celebrating Women Composers,” Linda Neilsen Korducki, flute, Jan. 25. Program:
Diane Wittry, “Mist;’ Cecile Chaminade, “Flute Concertino in D Major” with Korducki; Amy Beach, “Symphony in E minor, (‘Gaelic’)”

- “Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons,” Cory Chisel, March 15. Program: Symphonic treatment of the Appleton folk-rock band’s music.

- “Carmina Burana,” May 3. Program: Carl Orff’s vocal-orchestra masterwork with New Voices featuring Alisa Jordheim, soprano, Steven Paul Spears, tenor, Chad Sloan, baritone.
