Crews work to make Lake Winnebago safer

Crews put bridges and christmas trees out for anglers reference.

OSHKOSH (WFRV) - It's easy to lose your way on a frozen Lake Winnebago especially when there is a whiteout. To help with that and guide fishermen where it's safe to drive on the ice... roads are made.

On the shores of Menominee Park in Oshkosh... christmas trees are being loaded into the back of pick-up trucks and trailers. Members of the Otter Street Fishing Club worked Saturday to make the lake safer.

Holes were drilled through the 16 inches of ice and trees placed in them. Bridges have also been laid out or move to accommodate ATV traffic and vehicles.

Local 5's Donald Robinson has details.
