About Me: Alanna is an anchor on Local 5 This Morning.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alanna knew from a young age that she wanted to be a journalist. She got the “Curious George” award in kindergarten, and her curiosity and hunger for knowledge have only continued to grow throughout her adolescence and adulthood.

It was in college at Ohio University that Alanna got her first taste of sitting at the desk, having become an anchor for the student-produced evening newscast “NewsWatch” at WOUB.

Upon graduation, Alanna’s first job in the news business was at KTTC in Rochester, Minnesota, where she was both a multimedia journalist and an anchor. It was during her time at KTTC that she earned two Emmys for best evening newscast.

From Rochester, Alanna made her way to WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was the morning traffic anchor and a fill-in anchor. She next headed home to WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was the morning traffic anchor, an anchor and a reporter.

During her time in Cincinnati, Alanna sat on the Board of Advisors for Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. This is a position she held very dearly, as she is a Make-A-Wish recipient.

Having been a teenager battling a life-threatening illness, Alanna especially enjoys sharing stories of kids facing the same hardship, giving them a chance to be a star for a day. She believes sharing their stories allows them to forget about being sick (even if just for a day) and provides them a beacon of hope for healing.

Being from Cincinnati, Alanna is a natural-bred Bengals fan. BUT fear not: Her husband, Michael, who is an orthopedic surgeon at OSMS, was born and raised in Wisconsin and has brought her over to the good side — she now cheers on the Packers! When she’s not at work, you can find her in the stands at Lambeau with Michael, enjoying the outdoors, working out, or exploring her new city.

She and Michael are thrilled to be in Green Bay and are looking forward to starting a family in this incredible community!
