About: Born and raised in Ewing, New Jersey, Alexis became fascinated with the weather when she was young. Growing up, she performed as the lead in multiple musicals where she learned she loved being in the spotlight. Furthermore, having two parents in STEM, Alexis was pushed to discover she was gifted in the science and mathematics fields. In 2008, Superstorm Sandy hit home for Alexis, sparking her interest in the weather, and putting all the factors together, broadcast meteorology was the perfect career path for her.
Alexis graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and minors in Mathematics and Media Arts Production. During her time in college, Alexis was also a 4-year outfielder for the Millersville Division II softball team, as well as the softball representative for the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and an active member of many meteorology clubs, such as the American Meteorological Society, Weather Watch, Campus Weather Service, and so much more.
After graduating, Alexis accepted a position as Storm Team 5’s newest meteorologist and headed out west to begin her dream job in June 2022. She is most excited to learn from and work alongside such credible meteorologists that continue to help mentor her as she begins her career.
Alexis previously interned with the North Dakota Atmospheric Resource Board/Weather Modification International as a meteorologist out in western North Dakota in Summer 2021, where she also earned her Student Pilot License. She hopes to one day continue with flight school to earn her Private Pilot License. During Summer 2021 as well, she was also a virtual intern meteorologist for the National Weather Service based in Gaylord, Michigan. In 2019, Alexis also interned at Firmenich Incorporated working in the food science sector.
Outside of WFRV, Alexis begins working towards her graduate degree in September 2022, and will finish in August 2023 with a Master of Science in Communication from Northwestern University.
Alexis is excited to live in the Fox River Valley and explore the many places to hike, run, and bike with her dog Woody. She is also happy to be living back near a “beach” as the Green Bay
reminds her of the Jersey Shore back home. Alexis is beyond thankful for this opportunity and is proud to be here serving Northeast Wisconsin.
