About Me: Ryan was born and raised in Coventry, Rhode Island, and eventually moved to his current hometown of North Providence, Rhode Island. His favorite pastime related to weather was watching Jim Cantore broadcast live from inside a hurricane, and he has invested ever since. In 2012, Superstorm Sandy made its presence known in New England, and Ryan immediately bugged his parents to go see what happened along the coastline (he still has photos to this day).
Ryan went on to graduate from North Providence High School, where he was a four-year competitive swimmer and a member of his school’s National Honor Society. Ryan eventually found his next home at Plymouth State University, where he eventually earned his bachelor’s in meteorology in 2022 with Magna Cum Laude distinction, as well as a double minor in Mathematics and Communications. Throughout college, Ryan was involved and eventually swam for the newly formed men’s swim team as his school’s American Meteorological Society Chapter Activities Coordinator during his senior year and part of his school’s PM Weather Broadcast Team.
In the Summer of 2022, Ryan was a weather intern at one of his local TV stations with a former Plymouth State graduate and a fellow Plymouth State student.
After graduation, Ryan wanted to further his education and went on to complete his master’s degree in applied meteorology from Plymouth State University. Ryan took the opportunity to study communication during landfalling hurricanes, looked into the meteorology that led up to severe storms in the northeast, and learned how to be a better forecaster. He was also the Graduate School Representative for his school’s American Meteorological Society chapter and was a teacher’s assistant helping younger upcoming broadcast meteorologists.
When Ryan is not at the studio, you can find him at a local sports game or watching his favorite New England sports team, hitting the bowling alley, enjoying a nice cheeseburger, or out in nature hiking or skiing. Ryan is super excited to be here in northeast Wisconsin and can’t wait to chat and meet as many of his viewers as he can. Never feel afraid to say hi, if he isn’t in a rush, he loves to chat!
