About Me: Samantha is a Chicago native, but her family moved to Orlando, Florida, in 2005. Samantha graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Editing, Writing, and Media with a Minor in Communications in May 2023.
During college, Samantha was a Staff Writer for Strike Magazine, a student-run lifestyle and culture publication. It is nationwide but was founded at Florida State in 2016. Samantha wrote articles on music, fashion, and unsolved crime mysteries. Samantha was also the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, where she managed the chapter’s website and social media accounts and sought opportunities to highlight the chapter’s successes. Samantha was selected for a Journalism Job Shadow Program at WKRG in Mobile, Alabama. That’s when Samantha fell in love with becoming a news reporter.
Samantha’s senior year, she worked as a News Intern and Investigative Intern for WJXT Channel 4: News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. She covered stories about the Special Olympics, Starbucks Coffee Strike, Local School Bus Drivers, several criminal investigations, and news conferences for Governor Ron DeSantis. Seeing stories that make a meaningful difference in the community is what Samantha believes to be the most rewarding part of being a journalist.
Samantha loves being back in the Midwest and is enjoying Green Bay. She is looking forward to the change of seasons again and exploring northeast Wisconsin.
