LITTLE CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Actor Andre Bellos is off set and on the assembly line, volunteering at Feeding America’s location in Little Chute.
“I am half Greek and half Salvadorian. My mom is Salvadorian and came from a third world country. Growing up she would always tell me and my brothers and sisters….. You guys live like kings and queens. You have no idea what it was like to have to starve or fight every day for food” Bellos recounts.
He’s on a mission to bring awareness to hunger especially in small Midwest towns. His humanitarian efforts are no act, though he was bitten by the movie bug early on.
“My earliest memory of wanting to be an actor is about five years old. My mom was working at a hot dog shop and a customer said what do you want to be when you grow up and I said a movie star” he says with a smile.
A passion and dream being fulfilled with a growing resume.
“I started out as an extra, I did background work for over six years and just landed my first speaking role earlier this year” Bellos says with pride. “A few films that I have worked on were The Dilemma with Ron Howard and Vince Vaughn. I also worked on Chi-Raq with Nick Cannon and Spike Lee. Most recently I was on Chicago Justice”.
His filming schedule is on pause until October. “I thought what can I do to make my break meaningful?” Bellos is traveling the Midwest volunteering along the way.
“I am really grateful to be using my platform to mentor others and give back to the community.
With more than 30,000 followers on social media he is chronicling his adventures in volunteering and encouraging others to lift up the community in their downtime.
