Instant Pot Greek Pork Pitas

•           3 lbs. pork shoulder, fat trimmed

•           1 medium yellow onion, chopped

•           3 cloves garlic, minced

•           1 Tbsp. oregano

•           1 tsp. onion powder

•           Salt, to taste

•           Ground black pepper, to taste

•           8 pitas, warmed

•           Optional toppings:  tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, feta, kalamata olives, lemon



Place first seven ingredients into the Instant Pot. Close lid, turn vent to “Sealing”, select the “Meat/Stew” settings and set time to 45 minutes.

Once cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, use the quick release method to release the remaining pressure.

Place pork on a cutting board and shred. Return shredded pork to Instant Pot.

Serve shredded pork in pitas with optional toppings.


Slow Cooker Directions:

Place first seven ingredients in slow cooker.

Cover slow cooker and cook on low 10-12 hours.

Follow steps 3-4 above.
