Milk price optimism

Midwest Farm Weekly

Midwest Farm Weekly (WFRV) – Dairy farmers got a bit of welcome news. Class three milk prices are up about a dollar, to nearly $16 a hundredweight.

Experts attribute the jump to a tightening milk supply.

Milk production has dropped below year-ago levels nationwide.

Wisconsin lost a record number of farms last year, bringing down the state’s cow numbers and production.

While trade wars are still a concern, University of Wisconsin’s Bob Cropp expressed optimism for milk prices this spring.
