GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Grade school students enjoyed a lesson about space from a uniquely qualified expert.
Astronaut Sunita, or Suni Williams stopped by Green Bay’s McAuliffe Elementary school. Williams talked to fourth and fifth graders about wellness, science and math.
She says it’s important to develop their interests at a young age.
“This is the time kids really start to get interested in science, and math,” Williams says. “So hopefully talking about space with them and giving them an example of what space is like and what we’re doing will encourage them to study science and math.”
Williams is an avid runner who ran a marathon during her time on the International Space Station. She’ll will be coming back to run the Bellin 10k in June.
