ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – NFL schedule release day is always a hectic time for local businesses.

With the news of the Bears, and Brett Favre on Thanksgiving, that night is going to be a busy one in Green Bay.

In fact, some hotels are already sold out of rooms for that game and for a few others.

As soon as the Packers schedule was released, phones at Springhill Suites were ringing, with eager fans wanting to book rooms at the Stadium District hotel.

“It’s an exciting time of year.

It kicked off actually a little before the schedule was released.

A lot of people calling, asking if we know what games are available, what days,” says General Manager of Springhill Suites, Craig Bleier.

As for rooms available at the 127-room hotel, they’re already becoming scarce.

Twenty minutes after the schedule was released, rooms for three packers home games were sold out, including for the home opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

“Seattle’s going to be a revenge-type thing where everyone wants to be part of that,” says Bleier.

One Packers fan has been anxiously awaiting the release of the schedule.

“We’ve just been waiting like six months for the schedule to come out. Today has been a pretty long day just waiting,” says Alexa Rasmussen.

This bride-to-be was hoping for a Packers away game on the same weekend as her Fall wedding.

“The cost of the hotels is just so high during that weekend and with half of my guests coming from out of town, we’re kind of, we’re more so hoping for an away game,” says Rasmussen.

Rasmussen ended up getting the best of both worlds, not only do the Packers not have a home game the weekend of her wedding, but it’s actually a bye weekend for the team.
