ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Tuesday morning, the calm before the storm at Springhill Suites.
“It’s normally between five and 10 minutes after the release time that the phones start ringing,” said Craig Bleier, general manager. “Once they start, they just keep building.”
The stadium district hotel will have extra staff ready to field calls from eager football fans after the 7:00 p.m. release of the NFL schedule.
“We have all bases covered,” said Bleier.
Bleier said the 127 room hotel will likely book up Tuesday night for at least two Packers home game weekends. The most popular tend to be divisional games, but this season, some teams with big fan bases will make trips to Lambeau Field.
“The Cowboys travel well,” he explained. “Seattle is going to be a revenge-type game where everyone wants to be part of that.”
For fans who don’t rush to make reservations, tourism leaders say there will be plenty of rooms available closer to game day, you’ll probably have to look outside of the stadium district.
“We really have a great opportunity to showcase some of the hotels that are maybe on the further east side of Green Bay or south of Green Bay in De Pere,” said Brenda Krainik, marketing director, Greater Green Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Those are great options for Packers fans.”
It is preparation all in anticipation of the start of another season.
“We’re all ready,” added Bleier.
