Sheboygan (WFRV) One person was injured and two homes significantly damaged following a fire in Sheboygan.

Firefighters were called for a garage fire that broke out just after 7 o’clock Friday night at a home in the 1500 block of North avenue.

The Sheboygan Fire Department says when they arrived the garage was fully engulfed and spreading to the living area.

The fire then spread to the home next door. Both homes were significantly damaged.

One person living in the home where the fire began was injured and was taken to the hospital and then transferred to a Milwaukee area hospital. His condition is not known.

All people from both homes have been displaced. Two dogs were also rescued.

Officials say the frigid temperatures and ice formation created a challenge for the fire crews in battling this blaze.
