2018 Gun Deer Hunt Sees 6.9% Increase From Last Year

Hunters across the state will have plenty of venison in their freezers this winter. The DNR has released their preliminary harvest findings for this year’s gun deer season.

In total, 211,430 deer were harvested across the state – that’s a 6.9% increase from last year when 197,733 deer were killed.

Marathon County harvested the most deer with 7,642. In our area, Shawano and Waupaca counties also had a good year with over 6,000 deer killed in each county.
