3-year-old boy in Critical Condition After Near Drowning in Ashwaubenon

Local News

A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a swimming pool, according to Ashwaubenon Public Safety.

Police say it happened on Sunday around 6:45 p.m. when Ashwaubenon and De Pere rescue crews were called to the 600 block of Lida Lane for reports of a child drowning. Police say the child was playing with other children at a party, and there were other adults in the pool at the time of the incident.

Police say that bystanders, including a nurse, began lifesaving measures on the child until rescue units arrived.

Police say rescue personnel treated the child and transported him to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Ashwaubenon investigators do not believe there is any foul play involved.
