Five puppies and two adult dogs were rescued after a fire broke out in an Appleton home.

The Appleton Fire Department was dispatched to Packard and State St. around 1:15 PM after a neighbor reported a structure fire.

When they arrived, responders found smoke coming from a two story home at 501 N. State Street.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

The homeowners weren’t home at the time, and when contacted, notified officials that there were seven dogs in the house. Two adult dogs and five puppies.

Fire crews were able to locate all of the pets, and all are perfectly safe.
