Organizing any sort of event takes months of planning, hard work, communication, phone calls, making deadlines, and committment. 5th graders at Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners know this all too well, as they’ve been busy putting together their 5th annual Pi Day 5k coming up on March 9th.

All the money raised will go back to the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. The event has donated $62,000 to the organization over the past four years.

Allison Hockers, P.E. and Health teacher, and 5th grader Brielle Sandahl, stopped by Local 5 This Morning to talk about all the work the students are responsible for, and how it’s preparing them for making grown up decisions later in life.
