New details in the case surrounding the arrest of a 75-year-old Oshkosh man who inappropriately touched a three-year-old girl have been released.
The Oshkosh Police Department says B.T. Adams was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred November 27 at the YMCA.
Adams worked in the drop off center of the YMCA for what the criminal complaint says was a number of years.
On November 27, 2018 a parent dropping her children off saw Adams kissing the three-year-old child.
After Oshkosh police reviewed video from November 8 to December 6 of the drop-off center, they found that this was not the only time Adams had inappropriate contact with the child.
According to the complaint there were two other occasions prior he had been found on tape kissing her and touching her between her thighs and rubbing her chest.
That footage also showed instances where Adams would take the child into the bathroom or into a closed off area not within the camera’s view.
“Of those days Mr. Adams worked 10,” says Chief Dean Smith with the Oshkosh Police Department. “Detectives then spent approximately 32 hours reviewing video to determine if there were any other incidents involving Mr. Adams. On two occasions Mr. Adams was observed with his hand having sexual contact with the three-year-old.”
Adams is being charged with one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree child sexual assault and two counts of first-degree child sexual assault with a child under age 13.
The criminal complaint states Adams initially denied kissing the three-year-old, but later said she was trying to kiss him and he was not trying to kiss her.
Detectives asked him if he was attracted to children to which Adams said “It’s not an over attraction”.
