The Douglas County 911 dispatcher who answered the call for Jayme Closs is now speaking out on her experience.
Amy Pullen has answered thousands of emergency calls in her decade as a dispatcher, but she says none were as memorable as the January 10 call from Gordon. Pullen says she knew right away who the caller was talking about and her focus quickly turned to getting deputies to Gordon while finding out more information, including the name of Jayme’s kidnapper.
The sound on her (the 911 caller’s) voice… I knew that something was different about this and I actually remember looking at my partner that I was working with that day and she looked at me and she said ‘is this legitimate?’ and I said I think it is. You just…you have that gut feeling you can hear it in the voice and…you just kind of knew…”
Pullen was able to receive the alleged kidnapper’s name (Jake Patterson) and a description of the car he was driving, which ultimately led to his arrest.
