OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – We’re learning more about why traffic was backed up Friday evening near Little Chute on I-41.
According to the Little Chute Fire Department, they were dispatched to I-41 around 7 p.m. to assist with a clean up of a deer versus a car, however when they arrived, they found the situation to be a little different.
A vehicle carrying animal carcasses on its way to a rendering plant had dropped the load on northbound I-41 near the county landfill. They decided to close down the highway to better facilitate the clean-up.
Crews used barn lime to decrease any slippery conditions. The clean up was cleaned up around 11 p.m. and the interstate reopened to traffic.
