Antigo Police say video is not linked to missing person case

Local News

UPDATE 12:45 A.M.

Antigo Police say that the video has nothing to do with the disappearance of Kayla Berg.

The department says that they were able to make contact with the producer of the video and the actors, and they told police that this video was part of a series and that they did not intend to depict any reference to missing Kayla Berg.

Police are continuing to investigate all tips and leads that they receive in reference to Kayla.

The Antigo Police Department is investigating a video that may be linked to a missing person case.

The department was recently made aware of a 2009 YouTube video titled, “Hi Walter! I got a new gf today!” In the video, the man talks about how he took a woman shopping, but later shows her tied up and yelling in a bathroom.

The video recently gained attention and had more than one million views as of Tuesday morning, but the video was deleted Tuesday afternoon for violating YouTube’s policy on harassment and bullying.

Police say that they are looking into the video, because it could be connected to their missing person Kayla Berg.

Kayla Berg’s mother, Hope Sprenger, told WSAW that she has seen the video, and it broke her heart. She watched the video, paused it, watched it again and paused it. She said it looked like Kayla, but she just isn’t sure.

Officials say that they are actively investigating the origin of the video and have not yet tracked down the man in the video.

Kayla was last seen on August 11, 2009. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as 5’02” and 108 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. Her ears and navel was pierced and had scars on the right side of her nose and right shin.

If anyone has any information about the video, or the case, you are asked to call the Antigo Police Department at 715-627-6411.
