Appleton leaders are negotiate with a developer for a project on what’s called the “bluff site” in the downtown, and the mayor wants to know how much a city-owned parking ramp would cost.
The city council agreed Wednesday night to hire a consultant to study the possibilities for parking.
Mayor Tim Hanna says it’s a significant component of the site. He says the questions that should be explored are how does parking fit in with the project, and how much of that parking can be built underground.
Walker Parking Consultants also led the downtown parking study in the city a couple of years ago.
The contract calls for a ramp with 1,000 spaces. A potential office building would be constructed above it.
