The Appleton North Planned Parenthood clinic’s temporary closure is now permanent.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin says that after a through security evaluation of the Appleton facility, the organization determined it would not be able to meet the standards necessary to ensure patient and staff safety.

Planned parenthood says the closing is a ripple effect from the deadly shooting at a Colorado Springs facility that killed three people last year.

There are now two remaining Planned Parenthood centers that provide abortion services in the state, in Madison and Milwaukee.
