UPDATE 4/13/18 3:45 P.M.

According to New London School District’s Facebook page, the 2018 Junior Prom will be postponed to Saturday, May 5th.

Saturday’s prom at Green Bay East, Southwest and Preble has been moved up to 7:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m.

Green Bay School District has also postponed all after-prom events.

The District explained that student safety for the prom’s activities has and will continue to be its highest priority.

GBSD will continue to monitor the weather tonight and tomorrow morning. In the event the National Weather Service reports a change in weather conditions, and the District determines proms will need to be postponed, they will follow normal inclement weather communication protocols (email, phone call, text, social media, media and website updates).

If parents prefer their child not attend prom, their child’s ticket will be reimbursed.

The Junior Prom dance at Bay Port in Howard-Suamico will make similar changes

Bay Port Principal Mike Frieder explained the dance will be held Saturday night as scheduled, however, it will now be held from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

The Junior Prom dance will still be held at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, as previously scheduled.  Court will be at 9:15.

Principal Frieder said if the decision is made to not attend, students can bring their Junior Prom dance ticket to the main office on Monday, April 16th, and the school will issue a full refund.
