An emergency lane closure along WIS 441/US 10 is expected to affect the evening commute Wednesday.
The DOT has closed one lane on WIS 441 south from Oneida Street to Racine Road (County P) in order to fix a large pothole. The exit to Racine Road is also closed.
The area closed at 12:30 pm and is expected to reopen at 7 pm.
The DOT says overnight rain caused the pavement to fail and create a pothole that poses a risk to cars and drivers. They’ll be using a hot-mix asphalt to prevent the pothole from reforming until a more permanent solution can be done in the spring.
Drivers should expect backups around the area until the lane is reopened and are encouraged to find an alternate route.
