In honor of Earth Day, the community gathered together to do a little spring cleaning at a local trail.
People came together for the annual Earth Day Cleanup at Baird Creek at Triangle Hill in Green Bay.
Work assignments were handed out in the morning to volunteers who helped to improve the trail system by assisting with cleanup efforts.
Organizers say many volunteers from all over came to help out.
“There were actually buses of people who came all the way from Casco and all kinds of high school kids and children of all ages,” says James Olmsted with the Baird Creek Earth Day committee. “People came and picked up not just litter around the shelter here at Baird’s Creek Parkway, but they went all the way around the parkway into the community just to do a cleanup. And they also did tree planting.”
