LESSOR, Wis. (WFRV) – All the parties involved in an explosion that killed three people in Shawano County have been identified.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the two people who were dead at the scene were 52-year-old Timothy Cook Sr. and 49-year-old Kenrick Larson. Cook Sr. is from Oshkosh and Larson is from Neenah.

The two people who were flown from the scene were 60-year-old James Moon and 45-year-old Brandi Sprang. Moon and Sprang are from Keshena.

Moon reportedly died at the hospital on Jan. 1. The condition of Sprang was not provided at this time.

Authorities say that the investigation is still ongoing.

UPDATE: Deputies find cause of deadly explosion in Shawano Co. car shop

LESSOR, Wis. (WFRV) – Deputies have confirmed the cause of the explosion in Shawano County on Friday that resulted in multiple deaths.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, at around 12:43 p.m. deputies responded to a report that an explosion had occurred in a garage located on Hwy 47 by Hwy 156 in the Township of Lessor.

Upon arrival, officials say they found four individuals at the scene; two of the individuals were dead and the other two were injured and quickly airlifted to a local hospital. Their condition remains unknown at this time.

Authorities say an initial investigation into the explosion, revealed that a pressurized container had been punctured causing the explosion.

The investigation is still ongoing. Local 5 will continue to update this story as it progresses.

LESSOR, Wis. (WFRV) – Two people have been confirmed dead and multiple others are injured after an explosion occurred in a car shop in the Town of Lessor on Friday.

On Friday afternoon multiple fire agencies, including Navarino-Lessor Fire Department, responded to an area near WIS 47 and WIS 156 due to reports of an explosion.

Multiple helicopters reportedly responded to the scene as well.

A couple of hours after the fire was reported, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with Local 5 that two people were killed in the fire and two others have been injured and airlifted to local hospitals to receive further medical treatment. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.

The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time. Local 5 has a crew on the scene and will update this story as more information is released.

The incident happened near WIS 47 and WIS 156 in Lessor. Officials say that the portion of WIS 47 and WIS 156 is closed because of the incident.

At this time there is no information regarding any injuries or the cause of the explosion. Multiple helicopters reportedly responded to the scene.
