You have the chance to help give smaller community charities a bigger voice all while making an impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors in need. The Give Big Green Bay event is coming up February 27 and 28, giving organizations such as Ben’s Wish a big boost.
Ben’s Wish Co-Founder Becky Delain, Ben’s Wish Ambassador Emma Hujet, and Ashwaubenon School District Social Worker Andrea Pasqualucci joined Brittany Falkers on Local 5 This Morning to spread the word.
“Ben’s Wish was started after the death of our 11-year-old son, Ben, who fed someone an apple two days before he died while on a summer camping trip. As a result of this and some prompting from the man upstairs, Ben’s Wish was started and a Weekend Backpack Program was created with the help of Green Bay Rotary Club. Currently, we are in all school districts in town & feeding 700 school children every Friday & were asked to double this number for next year,” Delain said.
Hujet is an eighth grade student at De Pere Middle School who now serves as a Ben’s Wish ambassador.
“I got involved with Ben’s Wish a few years ago when I entered a Ben’s Wish school poster contest on hunger awareness & since then, wanted to help spread Ben’s Wish to all,” Hujet said.
Ben’s Wish is one of 31 recipients of Give BIG Green Bay. The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation & the Green Packers’ Foundation are partnering to help the smaller organizations have a bigger voice in the community, while @ the same time helping to teach the kids or my peers on the importance of giving

“Ben’s Wish has a goal to raise $50,000 at this event. We really need the support of all – both the people and businesses in our community,” Hujet said. “We are hoping everyone watching can help us by donating to Give Big Green Bay and choosing Ben’s Wish.”
