OCONTO FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) — The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office says they located the body of a missing fisherman Sunday morning.
Just after 9 p.m. Satuday, the sheriff’s office received a report of a missing fisherman in an area south of the dam on the Oconto River in Oconto Falls.
A search team consisting of sheriff’s office personnel, the Wisconsin DNR, Oconto Falls Police, Fire, and EMS began looking for the fisherman early Sunday morning. They were unable to locate the missing person.
During a second search of the river Sunday at 10 a.m., the search team located the body of the 38-year-old fisherman from Little Chute in the river.
This incident remains under investigation by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office. The name of the fisherman has not been released at this time.
