The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is awarding the City of Brillion a $500,000 grant to help finance the demolition work on the former Brillion Iron Works buildings.

The former Iron Works site will be replaced in two phases. In phase one, a new research and development facility will be built by Ariens Company, who purchased 70 acres of the site in October. The second phase is expected to consist of housing, commercial and retail development.

The first phase is underway and is expected to be finished in 2020.
