Capital Credit Union Donates Money to Oshkosh Fire Department for New Ballistic Gear

Local News

The Oshkosh Fire Department was awarded $15,050 from the Capital Credit Union Elevate Communities Program.

The funds will be used to purchase 10 sets of ballistic armor, helmets, and accessories for paramedics.

The vests will help protect paramedics from the dangers of doing their job other than the usual of: dodging traffic, needle sticks, and belligerent patients.  Active shooter and mass casualty incidents offer all new, and heretofore unknown dangers.

To help paramedics perform their job, having the proper protective equipment such as the ballistic vests will allow them to do so.

The Oshkosh Fire Department would like to thank Capital Credit Union for the donation, and helping make it safer for the paramedics to do their job.
