Cellcom Marathon kicks off in Green Bay

Local News

The Cellcom Marathon kicked off Saturday with their 5K and kids’ run.

The 5K began at 9:00 in the morning in the Titletown district on Oneida Street.

Runners traveled through the Lambeau field players’ tunnel, completed a lap around the field and finished near the Green Bay Distillery.

At 10:30 kids got to take off in the WPS Kids Power run.

Children in the nine and 10 age groups ran through the tunnel into Lambeau’s stadium bowl for a lap around the field.

Runners picked up their packets and registered Saturday at Lambeau to prepare for Sunday’s half and full marathons.

There were also various vendor booths for participants.

“We have over 50 vendor booths downstairs that you can come and do some shopping,” says registration director Alissa Cotter. “There’s all sorts of different items related to running, not running, all sorts of things you can come and check out “

The full marathon will begin at 7:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, half marathon runners will take off at 7:30 a.m.

Both races will begin in downtown Green Bay by the KI convention center and finish at Leicht Memorial Park.
