City council to vote on Shipyard Project tonight

Local News

UPDATE: The Green Bay City Council passed the Shipyard development project with an eight to three vote.

The $13.5 million dollar Shipyard development would include a concert venue that would hold 2,000 people, an 8,000 square foot Anduzzi’s restaurant and an outdoors event center that would seat 4,000 people.

Festival Foods CEO Mark Skogen is the private investor for the project’s concert venue.

Mayor Jim Schmitt is prepared for the possibility that tonight’s vote could mean change for the city.

“It is really going to change the face of the west side of the water front of Green Bay,” says Schmitt. “We’ve been working for on this for year and a half and we’re already teed up with the outdoor event center, which will be for baseball, soccer and have some concerts there.”

Tonight’s vote will determine if this project will actually become reality.

The public is invited to attend the council meeting at 7:00 p.m.
