A civilian boater saved a person in the Fox River at the City Deck Landing Thursday with a floatation device.

Just before three in the afternoon, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department received a report that someone was in need of rescue in the Fox River. Fortunately, that person was saved by a civilian boater, who threw them a floatation device to keep them afloat until fire crews arrived.

The victim was then taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

As a reminder, boaters should always have a floatation device in their vessel for emergency situations.
