OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) Since February, students with the Communities Program at Oshkosh North High School have been working together with a community partner for their semester of service projects.
Three of the junior students stopped by Local 5 This Morning to talk about the progress they’ve made, and the effort that has gone into each of the projects.
Zoe Rucinsky is working with Mid-Morning Kiwanis on the Amazing Oshkosh project. The race is on Saturday, May 4th and features different challenges across the city, where 50 teams race to get to each checkpoint – similar to the TV show, The Amazing Race
Nolan Spanbauer is working with the City of Oshkosh government to host the BikeOsh 2019 event. It’s coming up on Saturday, May 11th and is held to encourage a healthy lifestyle, while educating the public about the bike facilities throughout the city.
Lydia Schloskey is working with NAMI Oshkosh to host the Oshkosh 5K Mental Health and Suicide Awareness walk. NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) provides education and support to those dealing with mental illness. The walk is being held on Saturday, May 4th and also aims to raise awareness about mental health issues.
