Crews respond to significant fire at Contract Transport Services

Local News

UPDATE: GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Officials now say more than a dozen tractor trailers were totaled in a fire at Contract Transport Services Sunday evening.

Monday morning, the trucking company was able to return to business as usual after different lease companies and vendors delivered trucks for Contract Transport Service to use.

The trucks were powered by natural gas, but fire officials say that the containers that hold the gas functioned properly during the fire, releasing pressure and preventing a CNG explosion.

“They did exactly what they’re supposed to do,” Curt Reitz, President of Contract Transport Service said of the vents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
