De Pere-based employer, and for-hire truckload carrier Paper Transport, Inc. (PTI), reached a business milestone this past week by hiring its 1,000th employee.

Of the 1,000 PTI employees working throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Southern U.S., 444 are based in Wisconsin.

Jeff Shefchik, PTI President.

“It’s the success of our employees, our people that drives me.

This milestone is significant because we have 1,000 people coming together to support each other every day.

Through everyone’s hard work, we’re now able to help provide for 1,000 families and that’s a big deal.”

PTI was founded in February of 1990 by Roger Grimsley and Lennie Shefchik in Green Bay.

This year, PTI says it is looking to build on the 17% growth that it experienced in 2018 through the addition of customers, further technological advances, employee learning and development, and offer more home daily driving configurations.
